Disney World Implements IoT Technology

The Internet of Things, or IoT, is what helps you enjoy all the fancy apps and fun that you’re currently using. It allows you to connect devices, and get more out of the virtual world than you might have imagined possible. IoT has even helped enhance the travel industry. You can learn more about IoT within the travel industry when you click here, but before you go, continue reading and learn more about how Walt Disney World Resort implemented the technology to the benefit of travelers, their company, and the world.

It all began in 2013 when Walt Disney World in Florida began using IoT technology, introducing Magic Bands. These bands look similar in style to the fitness tracker and is rubber made. With this band, users have an all access pass to the theme park, its attractions, and more. But, the amazement of the band doesn’t stop there, either.

With the Magic Band, guests of Walt Disney World Resort can also access their hotel room, parking tickets, and lots more. The band gave customers ease and peace of mind, since there is nothing extra to carry around and so much less to worry about. You are at Disney World. It is time to have fun, not worry about losing keys and other headaches.

The band also had a feature that travelers to the resort enjoyed called the Fast Pass Plus. With this pass, travelers could schedule attraction visits and experiences as far as 60 days ahead of their planned arrival time. One click of the band and the wait of those lines gone, and you’re in the front. And, you only need this app and technology to enjoy it all.

IoT technology is here and it is here to stay. In fact, it is only going to get better. Are you ready to experience it all?
